I really enjoy Starbucks muffins. They look incredibly sweet and commercialized, but they actually taste really good. They're a generous size and not overly sweet or oily. They're also good for a late-night snack when everything else is closed. I've tried both the blueberry and banana walnut muffins. The blueberry is a little sweet, but still manageable. I love the banana walnut one, which usually sells out. The young woman serving me late on a Saturday evening was so friendly and cheerful. It was almost 10 PM, but she remained unfazed by the small crowd that gathered. Very smiley and courteous :) 👍🏻
I ordered a tiramisu the other day, and it wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. For the price, I expected something better. The cake's texture was a bit dry, and the cream wasn't the best. 2 out of 5...
This Canberra branch is one of the friendliest I've been to. The two ladies working there are really helpful and friendly, always smiling; they truly cheered up my morning. I was there for breakfast on November 9th, 2023. Keep it up!
I had breakfast 3-4 times a week at this Starbucks for nearly four years since it opened. There were many friendly baristas who made Starbucks feel like a "third place," from the store manager who has relocated to HQ, to ex- and current baristas Terence, Ais, Lisa, and Daniel. All of them made my mornings enjoyable with delicious drinks, food, and warm smiles. I will miss you all ❤️
I bought a coffee at Canberra Plaza. The girl who served me made my day; I think her name is Adzil (February 2nd, 9:50), if I'm not mistaken. What a pleasant experience, amazing service! I've bought the same coffee again and loved it. Thanks, Adzil!
The staff here are extremely rude. They are always chitchatting amongst themselves, gossiping, and using curse words loudly in front of customers, blatantly ignoring their presence. I also had one experience where the staff spoke to me very rudely, so I definitely do not recommend coming here. The customers here are also especially noisy and loud.
My husband ordered fried fish soup for me here, and the aunty was so rude. I feel that people who work here, especially in food and beverage, should really learn the basics of English. They don't have to be fluent. Then she got angry at my husband because he couldn't understand Chinese (my husband is Malay 😭). We didn't mind that, actually. But when we ordered, we asked to have the fish separated because it's fried and it would be soggy by the time he reached home. However, the aunty didn't do that. So my husband told her that he had requested the fish to be separated, but the aunty scolded him for asking. All I can say is, aunty, I'm sorry my husband can't speak Chinese, but please don't scold him. We also didn't scold you for not understanding English 😭. To the fried fish stall, I hope you have at least one English-speaking person to help her out... We also requested milk to be added to the soup, but she didn't do that either. My husband was too lazy to ask again, afraid the aunty would scold him.
The portion at the ban mian stall was dismal. We were charged extra for meat but received an appalling portion, less than what you'd typically get at other ban mian stalls.
