"I'm a professional rehab therapist, and I prioritize getting monthly massages. On July 16th, I went to this establishment and was assigned a masseuse. The session started, but it felt like it hadn't. For nearly 30 minutes, he applied almost no pressure, making it feel like he was merely prepping. When I finally asked him to adjust the pressure, he immediately started using his elbow with extreme pressure on inappropriate areas, like my spine and the middle of my neck. It was clear he had no idea what he was doing!
Now, I'm dealing with a swollen shoulder, a spine injury, and bone contusions along my entire spine. This affects not only my health and lifestyle but also my ability to do my job. The service and professionalism were utterly unacceptable. This was the worst experience I've ever had.
P.S. Make sure to ask for their certification before getting a massage. This could save you hundreds in medical bills. He clearly didn't know what he was doing."
I'd love to give a 5-star rating for their massages; their skill is good. However, it's very strange, as I've never been charged to use the massage bed in any other shop. I was charged $5 to use the bed for a one-hour back and shoulder massage. What a strange fee!
The bed isn't comfortable either. The face opening is so small that only your nose and mouth fit, and your upper face, especially your eyes, is pressed against the not-so-comfortable cushion.
Overall, I might still go back, but I wouldn't use their massage bed. I also saw staff eating, using the bed as a table and placing their food directly on it.
Went for their 60-minute combo massage. The neck and shoulder massage was fine. However, I can't say the same for the remaining 30 minutes of foot reflexology. The therapist had long fingernails, and while working on my calves, I could feel the nails scratching my skin repeatedly. The reflexology also didn't cover enough of both of my foot soles. 👎
Addy was my masseur. He was extremely good, and for me, as someone with a lot of massage experience, he's really the best one I've found! (I’m super happy to have found him 🖤) Do book him next time if you're coming!
"Had a pain problem on the sole of my foot. I explained my problem, and the uncle gave me a massage.
He tried his best to ease the pain, and I felt better after the massage.
I will come again for my monthly massage. It's convenient, being near my house; I can walk there in five minutes, provided it's not raining."
It’s a takeaway joint selling dessert. These donut balls, made of yam and sweet potatoes, have a nice, soft, and chewy texture. They are a bit pricey, but worth trying.
It's basically an alternative to Nine Fresh/Jiu Xian, but it's a little more expensive (approximately $1.20 more). It's not a bad option if you're in the area. I had D3/Golden Beauty and corn with spicy minced chicken.
Golden Beauty is a mix of beancurd and grass jelly with (lychee?) pearls that burst, osmanthus jelly, and the chewy, donut-shaped things. It tastes very similar to Jiu Xian, but the toppings are better, especially the osmanthus jelly, which definitely costs more, even if it's factory-made.
The corn was bigger than the usual pasar malam kind and was juicy and sweet on its own. The spicy chicken was average and didn't add much to the corn except to make it savory. I was thinking it could be eaten as a salad alternative due to its size. I'll get it with condensed milk or butter next time, though.
Overall, I'll go back if I'm passing through the area, but the price is a little steep.
"I would like to give my feedback regarding Canberra Plaza. I think the service crew there may be part-timers, as I see them mostly on Saturdays or Sundays. Two of the service crew have very long fringes and don't do anything with them, letting them hang down and cover their faces. This is very unhygienic. I hope DO QOO will take action regarding this matter.
Thanks."
This dessert shop is part of the Mr. Bean group, so the two are side by side. It's another option besides Nine Fresh. Personally, I found it sweet, and the taste was just okay. The price is higher than Nine Fresh. The dining area is next to the kiosk, and there's a trash bin to dispose of your waste after eating. The air conditioning was very cold, around 19 degrees. You can add $2 for a corn cup 🌽 or opt for a bundle for 2 or 4 for better savings.
Customers should definitely ask, "Do you know how to make this drink or dessert?" before ordering.
As regular patrons for over three years, I was incredibly disappointed with my experience at the Do Qoo shop in Canberra Plaza on October 2, 2024.
I ordered and paid for two Black Sesame Pudding Lattes. However, the lady preparing my drinks seemed completely untrained. After a few moments of confusion, she informed us that she didn’t know how to make the drinks and asked if we could wait for her colleague to return from her break, which she said would take another half hour.
Given our time constraints, we requested a refund, but she stated that she didn’t know how to operate the cash register and couldn't process it. She repeatedly insisted that she was new and unfamiliar with the drinks or the cashier system.
After further discussion, she suddenly claimed she had figured out how to make the drinks. However, when she prepared them, the proportions were inconsistent: one drink had double the black sesame while the other had far too little sugar. The result was unpalatable, and we couldn’t drink either of them.
Given this experience, we will not be returning. I suggest they ensure at least one trained staff member is available at all times to avoid similar situations.
